About the Speaker: My name is Nicholas Prush. I am a father of four children (Alexa 11, Ella 10, Nicholas II 6, and Alexander 4) and a husband of 15 years to my beautiful wife, Angela. I enjoy spending time with my family, and when given the opportunity, a golf course is always appreciated! I am a die-hard Detroit Lions and University of Michigan Football fan. I am a 2003 AAS graduate from Henry Ford Community College. I have a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration from Eastern Michigan University, and I have a Ph.D. in Health Services with a concentration in Healthcare Administration from Walden University. Clinically, I enjoyed working at the University of Michigan Health System, Beaumont Royal Oak, and Henry Ford Wyandotte & West Bloomfield Hospitals. My teaching background started at Oakland Community College as an Adjunct Professor. Also, I was an Adjunct Professor at Monroe County Community College, where I later became the Director of Clinical Education (DCE) for four years and then the Program Director of the Respiratory Therapy Program for two years. I am the founding Program Director for the University of Michigan-Flint Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy (BSRT) program. I am currently the Past-President of the Michigan Society for Respiratory Care (MSRC). My research interests are reducing 30-day readmission penalties for hospitals, chronic pulmonary diseases, pulmonary rehabilitation, and interprofessional education (IPE). I am an Interprofessional Leadership (IPL) fellow through the University of Michigan and enjoy the IPE interactions across campus.
